When Truth Becomes Dangerous

I did not set out to find Jesus.

I set out to destroy Him.

Not physically, of course—but intellectually, publicly, decisively. I believed with absolute certainty that Christianity was false, that the Bible was corrupted, and that anyone who believed Jesus was God had been deeply misled. My mission was simple: expose the errors, win the arguments, and defend what I knew to be the truth.

And I was good at it.

I had already dismantled the faith of many Christians before I ever stepped foot onto a college campus. I knew the arguments. I knew the weaknesses. I knew exactly where to press and how to win. To me, Christianity was not just wrong—it was obviously wrong.

Then I met someone who didn’t collapse.

He didn’t get defensive.
He didn’t get angry.
He didn’t back down.

Instead, he listened… and then he answered.

Calmly. Clearly. Confidently.

And for the first time in my life, I encountered answers I wasn’t prepared for.

What began as a simple debate turned into something I never expected—a relentless search for truth that would stretch over years. What started as intellectual sparring became a deep friendship. And what began as confidence slowly turned into doubt… not about Christianity, but about everything I thought I knew.
